 Hi, I’m Connor Bynum, and I’m here to help simplify aviation training for students, instructors, and schools. As a newly certified CFI, CFII, and Commercial Pilot trained through Sierra Charlie Aviation, I’ve taken everything I learned as a student and turned it into a system designed to support you with clarity, structure, and step-by-step progression.

I don’t claim to have years of experience, but I do bring a deep passion for teaching, a mindset for systems, and a fresh understanding of what today’s students need to succeed.

Sample Week 1: What Your First Week Looks Like

Curious about how training with me actually works? Here’s what a brand-new student can expect in their first week: “Brief Outline” 

Day 1
  • Orientation session (intro to flight training, paperwork, and safety basics)
  • First simulator lesson: aircraft controls, preflight check, radio basics
  • “What to expect” handout, plus digital study kit for home
Day 2
  • In-person aircraft preflight and ramp safety walk
  • Discovery flight in the Cessna 172: you get the controls
  • Immediate debrief (what you did well, how to improve, next step quiz)
Day 3
  • Ground lesson: basic aerodynamics, weather, and airspace overview
  • Interactive quiz (digital or on iPad)
  • Goal-setting for the week:
Day 4
  • Focused sim lesson: traffic patterns and radio calls
  • Guided practice with interactive lesson plan
  • Short check-in call or text: questions answered, confidence check
Day 5
  • Flight: pattern work, takeoff, and landing basics
  • Quick debrief with digital feedback rubric
  • Homework: review video briefings, prep next quiz
